Michelle & PJ viewed Almscliffe Valley, as a complete blank canvas, back in March 2023 and booked the same day! The flexibility and potential of the venue was just their vibe.
From there on in we had months of lovely catch ups about their tipi wedding plans and cuddles with Sid their Golden Retriever pup. (Sid was a grown up by the time the wedding day arrived and was chief ring barer - what a good boy!)

Michelle recalls the initial wedding venue search "We started off by trying to find an outdoor venue which also allowed camping over night for guests. There are not many in the area which offer this (or if there is it isn’t that is well advertised) and when we saw how pretty Almscliffe Valley was and then spoke to Laura, we realised the venue ticked all our boxes - so much so, it was the only venue we viewed and we booked it instantly."
"We love the outdoors and wanted a wedding which reflected that, which is why we opted for a teepee wedding. It was an easy choice picking Bar Events, as they take onboard a lot of the organisation of everything which meant less stress for us. Their drink packages are also reasonably priced so it felt like a no brainer."

July 2024 finally came around! Michelle, PJ, their family and friends spent a sunny day down in Almscliffe Valley adding the most colourful decor to their tipis and outdoor seating area ahead of the big day.
"There is no such thing as less is more when it comes to decorating a teepee - we were worried there was going to be too many decorations, but the teepees are a huge space to fill and therefore the more decorations, the better. So if you’re worried about going overboard then don't, because it all comes together on the day and the decorations will look epic in such a big open space."

The wedding day itself was pretty fine weather wise, with just a light shower during their outdoor ceremony. It was cooler than usual for July though. Michelle recommends having a plan in case the weather's not great...
"Prepare mentally for bad weather so you are not caught off guard if it does rain. Also, make sure to have an umbrella on standby in case it rains when you are doing your vows! This happened for us and we decided to stick it out - the rain only lasted 1 minute and the cloudy grey sky made some brilliant photos.
We also added a fire pit on last minute which was a great decision, as it was about 16 degrees on our day. When the sun was out it was warmer, but even on a hot day you can use the fire pit in the evening when it gets cooler which guests will really appreciate - it also made it a nice focal point of one of the teepees."

North Sky Yurts provided the most epic glamping village we'd ever seen. With most guests staying over on site there was a relaxed festival feel to the day and there were some pretty incredible dance floor scenes very early on, which we always love!!!
