Charlotte and Ben came to us under rather unusual circumstances – after finding out that their original wedding venue and tipi supplier was in fact a scam. Everyone’s worst nightmare right? Needless to say, this journey was a rollercoaster, and we formed a pretty special bond with these guys very quickly.
“We originally had our wedding booked through a different man who, long story short, turned out to be a huge scammer and ran away with a lot of our money. Laura and Dan have just been amazing. Thankfully they had our date free and since then they have both been utter gems. They went above and beyond for us, we both didn’t have a clue what we were doing with wedding planning. I can’t count the amount of calls and emails to Laura about utter random things. To have Laura help and unscramble my brain and to just listen meant the world. Dan managed to make the wonkiest field feel somewhat flat - just amazing! We can’t forget the amazing bar staff, who definitely worked very hard on the night. The constant cocktails, endless beer and shots - we can’t thank you enough for keeping us fully ‘hydrated’.”
Charlotte had always wanted a tipi wedding “The traditional wedding etiquette scares me and I’ve always just wanted it to feel like a huge celebration where everything is very chilled and go with the flow - the carefree, laid-back wedding. My Pinterest board is filled with outdoor tent weddings, filled with wildflowers, lots of drinks and rustic décor. I think my mum (along with everyone else) thought I was mad for not wanting the big white wedding, I always wanted our wedding to be something people hadn’t been to before and left thinking - that was amazing!”
Ben confesses that he took a back seat on the planning “as long as there was a fully stocked bar, I was happy.”
The thing we LOVED about Charlotte and Ben was, even following the incredibly negative and stressful start to their tipi wedding plans, they were just unflappable and the calmest couple to work with. Something really important to them was to put their own personalised touches in to every element of their day and they certainly delivered on that!
Charlotte recalls the planning process - “I really enjoyed it, we DIYed the majority of the wedding, which I loved. Everything was personalised to us. I don’t think Ben liked our house being filled with boxes for about 6 months, but when he saw it all in place I think he realised that all the little bits actually made the day.
I love planning, mood-boards and being creative, so sitting down in an evening and making menus, wedding newspapers, drying out flowers for our confetti was really calming to me. People are still messaging me about how amazing the day was and how quirky and unique everything was. I wish I could do it all over again!”

So let’s get some top tips from Charlotte who, lets face it, is now a complete pro at organising a wedding…
Top tip 1
“Don’t stress, what will be will be. Someone told us that if things go wrong, you’re the only ones to know that, and actually it doesn’t really matter! At the end of the day, your surround by people who love you most getting married to the person you love most.”
Top tip 2
“Choose Bar Events! Our day was fab, and that is mainly because of Dan, Laura and the team, for providing everything we needed.” (We won’t argue with that one!)
Top tip 3
“Spend time together. I’d really recommend trying to spend as much time together as you can and let your guests come to you. We have the same memories from the wedding and experienced it all together. We also took a moment where we sat outside and just watched all our guest have the best time - dancing, drinking and having fun. We are so glad we did this. It’s the thing I remember most from our day.”

Charlotte’s day in three words - Hilarious, loud, love
Ben’s day in three words - Picturesque, relaxed, fun
Our favourite part of Charlotte and Ben’s day (aside from some colossal dance moves) was an artist painting the teepees as the couple and their guests dined. The result – a gorgeous impression of Charlotte and Ben’s teepees complete with loved ones that couldn’t be there on the day. Our eyes are welling up and our hearts are full all over again!
Thank you Charlotte and Ben for putting your trust in us after everything you'd been through. WE DID IT!!!
